Last week 7 US Senators wrote to the Chair of the SEC asking him to do MORE to address cybersecurity, prior to his recent release of cybersecurity regulatory proposals aimed at Investment funds.

‘We write to urge the Securities and Exchange Commission to propose rules regarding cybersecurity disclosures and reporting. We further urge you to coordinate the formulation of these rules with the National Cyber Director.’

DHS, CISA, CSF profiles will be the way forward.

They ask for an effective regulatory approach asking for public companies to disclose a cybersecurity expert on their board, if not why not. The letter quotes the cybersecurity disclosure act to require companies to provide this disclosure to investors.(https://lnkd.in/dkftP5EJ)

We believe there is an opportunity for the SEC to adopt already existing markets regulations such as SoX to enable public firms to address cybersecurity. Discussed in the Augusta plan (www.augustagrp.com)
