Thank you for publishing this Scott Edwards (Kurt Lessmann,‚Â Chandler Hall‚Â and‚Â Amy Edwards) highlighting the challenges Small Business America (and big business for that matter) is facing with CMMC compliance, and the challenges the DoD could face if companies decide to leave the market place.
‘CMMC costs present perhaps the biggest challenge North Alabamas economic base has faced in decades’
The global DIB cannot ignore the CMMC program, as a key constituent of DoD weapon system procurement, (see the GAO report that drove CMMC) and the costs of cyber compliance will increase the burden. A cost the international DIB in general will also find difficult to absorb, given the differing cyber standards and levels of cybersecurity compliance. A global DIB the DoD is dependent upon to produce its weapon system.
There is no perfect solution, all sides have their backs against the wall for varying and conflicting reasons. Making a middle ground challenging to find at a time when everyone agrees cybersecurity is a domestic and international problem.
We examine the small business challenge the DoD faces and present opportunities to address them in support of the DoD, small business and international partners. (https://lnkd.in/dYjWv8-5)
