This is definitely one to read. A great article on the cat and mouse game which maybe played out in the US court over cyber attacks, insurance, the small print and the costs and impact to the corporate balance sheet. It captures the challenges which lie ahead for cyber security and insurance.

With some notable names, like Warren Buffett and Bob Dudley, setting the tone at the top of companies. Voicing concerns of the ability of corporations to manage cyber risk and the insurance industry to underwrite it effectively.

NotPetya, Merck and an ‘Act of War’ are going to tie the US legal system up in a complex web of small print, definitions and consequences. Which is going to have huge consequences on corporations and the insurance industry well into the future. Did the company do as much as it should have done to manage its cyber risks, was it an act of war?

Alongside the Mondelez and Zurich case this is going to be one to watch.
