Call us now:
There does seem to be a trend emerging, which I believe is positive, of going to the market for advice, guidance and input into national cyber security strategy. The Australian government did it recently and now the Indian government are doing the same.
There are good reasons for doing it, it shows that that cyber is being taken seriously at a nation state level. It allows everyone, companies and individuals alike, to input into the strategy. We should all agree that experience is spread across all tiers of government, corporates and society. With the complexity associated with cyber security, all opinions should be welcomed with open arms.
It supports inclusion, so there are no surprises, which often companies do not like. Its harder to complain, if you’ve been given the opportunity to provide input. Albeit, it comments may not be considered. It supports global standardization, as with regulation, open dialogue on what good cyber strategy looks like is fed across geographic boundaries. So we are all working with similar strategies, standards and controls. There is always an argument about ‘it may be wrong’, but with broad collaboration we have a better chance of all getting it right.
