It’s very important that we train the next generation of cyber security professionals, set the right standards of professionalism, ethics and integrity. The millennial generation has been bought up on the internet, social medial and mobile. They live and breath technology.
It’s also important that we educate leadership teams to recognize that we must also invest in the appropriate levels of security to ensure that we continue to maintain the necessary levels of protection. This includes education and awareness , if we are to address the global shortage of skilled resources. We have to find a balance between technological development, education, awareness and economic growth.
When you can make more money as a hacker, base yourself anywhere in the world with low penalties when you get caught. Then we have to find away of keeping the next generation on the ‘white’ side, not ‘dark’.
