Being honest, open, transparent and sharing information with corporate peers about cyber security threats and incidents may deliver more benefits to companies than not.

Regulators, government agencies and industry bodies would like companies to share more information on cyber issues, threats and incidents. Which makes allot of sense if you have been targeted by a threat actor. Sharing the information with a trade association, government agency or trusted industry colleague helps everyone.

There’s allot of sensitivity in doing this of course, as it could impact competitive advantage, so has to be done properly. But it could have a reciprocal impact to, as security is two way street where information sharing and collaborate benefits everyone.

Cyber is not a field where anyone can stand up on their own, it’s a nation-state, criminal and social activity which is driven by political motives and lots of cash. E.g. with our global connect supply chains information sharing is critical to helping stop incident propagation.

UK governments Cyber Information Sharing Partnership is just one example where collaborative platforms are begin developed to share cyber information.(https://lnkd.in/e3tvsU4)

Forewarned is forearmed.
