Perceptics the US contractor which provided surveillance technology to the US Boarder Agency has been suspended for a year from providing services to the Federal Government, following its data breach last month.

You have to assume that the affected agencies can afford to lose Perceptics services for a year and there are other providers who can fill the gap. Whilst probably not related, it is in line with proposals aired last month to tighten cyber oversight of US defense suppliers, by the US Department of Defense.

It sends a clear message to suppliers that the Federal Government is enforcing change on its supply chain when it comes to data protection and cyber security. The company brand will be in the spot light globally, lost revenues and I’m sure they will be subject to increased oversight.
