Rachel V. Rose, JD, MBA, as cybersecurity regulations drive cyber risk management compliance ‘left of bang’ the healthcare sector. Especially the boards of healthcare providers who will have to take more responsibility for the management of cyber security risks. Indicative of the recent FDA requirements for the cybersecurity of medical devices, one example of regulatory activity.

Cybersecurity is no longer the lens through which compliance is achieved, it is cybersecurity risk management. Requiring a proactive approach to risk management and cyber risk mitigation. Great to see the conversation evolving around the adoption of the cybersecurity framework (CSF) as a tool for risk mitigation.

As cybersecurity regulation develops the use of the CSF, more specifically CSF profiles will be a choice for healthcare organizations, as regulation requires a clear understanding of risk and risk mitigation.
