Say it how it is, there’s a lot to be said about harmonisation of cybersecurity regulation internationally, with concerns that Australia’s cyber laws do not go far enough to address CNI, highlighted by the Optus incident.

At a time when U.S and EU regulators are pushing ahead with cyber regulations that include CNI and market regulations. This maybe an opportune time to include all CNI providers in Australia regulations, especially when Australia has robust cybersecurity standards.(https://lnkd.in/eRXuN_iG)

Close attention should be paid to EU NIS 2.0, EU DORA and the SEC proposal that share common cybersecurity risk management regulations over governance, risk, cyber, incident reporting and attestation.
