Call us now:
Definitely worth a read. Is cyber moving up the geopolitical and political agenda? With leaders starting to openly discuss the threats posed by cyber-attacks on Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) and remedial legislation to support agencies counter the threat? Has the horse bolted, are we playing a high speed game of catch-up? Where governments are legislating to take direct control, in the case of Australia who is looking to give its Signals Directorate access to its CNI in the event of a cyber-attack.
But why do we need all this? We have plenty of cyber solutions chasing cyber security issues to prevent attacks, right? Quite simply, as put partly by Ciaran Martin in the WSJ (https://lnkd.in/dkDcrBY). There is so much technology looking to fix problems we do not understand, with a shortage of qualified people and a lack of leadership across government and the board room.
Until we address the knowledge and skills gap, take the time to understand the issues we will continue to spend money to fix problems we do not understand. A word of caution, governments will legislate their way out of this.
