What will the EU GDPR mean to companies. A significant challenge companies will face will be data identification and classification. In my experience companies need to ensure they have a good understanding of what their critical business data is, what PII (Personally Identifiable Information) they hold, who owns its, were its located and how it is secured. All critical points which need to be considered if there is going to be compliance to the regulation. Basically, If you don’t know what PII you collect, you won’t know where it is stored, who has access to it and how securely it is held.
